Saving the Monarchs starts with you.
-
Monarch Microhabitats
Saving the monarchs means feeding them—milkweed for the caterpillars and nectar producing flowers for the butterflies. They need habitat and food all along their migratory routes, from Canada to Mexico. Making a monarch-friendly garden is easy! Just follow these steps.
-
Political Actions
We need better public policy to help the monarchs. There are several pieces of legislation that could help! Please write your elected officials to support these bills. In addition, there are actions state and fedearl agencies could take to protect the monarchs—write these agencies, too!

Other Threats
Other than habitat loss, there are other threats to monarch butterflies, such as climate change, pesticides and agriculture. Stopping use of pesticides and mitigating climate change impacts will help the monarchs and the planet.
